odd

dream
i dreamt earth or at least the planet I was on, not Earth I think, he said remembering the dream, was invaded by metamorphing hegemonising very powerful very agressive aliens and I had to obtain some documents. OK so far for me a normal dream however what was unique to my experience was that in the dream I was a woman, a Jodie Foster like character. Strange but rather cool I think.

Vodstock 2006

I went to a huge corporate event yesterday in the grounds of Blenheim Palace. 10,000 people: employees, with partners, of Vodafone, bands; Texas, Ms Dynamite, Embrace. Hot Air balloon, foot massage tent, tarot tent and a fair.
Keith was official photographer and supposed to be the only person taking pictures on site and i went along as his dogsbody/mule. At one stage I was stood next to the UK head of Vodafone and later, while Keith took photos, I was about 10 feet away from Texas' Charlene Spiteri as she chatted with Arun Sarin the CEO of Vodafone.
Plus we had pit access during the bands.
One to chalk up to experience.

The Wine-Dark Sea * * * *

The Wine-Dark Sea by Patrick O'Brian
cool

old papers

I was going through some old papers looking for my CBT certificate so I can claim on the insurance for my motorbike and found an old poem which I thought I had accidently thrown out
it dates back to 1997

Bang -- Material MattersWith a bang I began
When time began,
And space and energy and matter,
Structure emerged
Alchemist stars
Birthing weighty matter,
And through the dance of deep time,
To the rhythm of implacable laws,
Complexity reached consciousness:
Cognito, ergo sum.
But before,
My influence was spread across light-years;
Across the Universe,
Inside stars,
In supernovas I was a mover and a shaker:
Cosmic Man.

I began with a bang,
My mother and my father
Starting a DNA dance
And my matter finally mattered:
But I am not the man I used to be
I've changed,
Everything I am today
Is inherently unstable
In transit.
The dancing elements that comprise what I am;
In transit until burning obliteration
If time has duration,
Or in transit cold, cold, cold unwinding
Seperation and disintegration
A perhaps almost infinitely quieter succession of echoes.
The eternally increasingly boring universe hypothesis;
James Dean
Or universal Alzeiher's.
It doesn't matter
There will be no matter as generally understood either way.
que sera sera
There is matter now, I matter
You are matter, you matter
Enjoy it, breath it, matter in a moral way.

water

water
undulating light
wash away my sorrow
wash away my weight

i swim my lengths
lose count and dream
the young and the old
sweep past me yet
steady stroke
steady stroke
i don't want a cerebrovascular accident like my dad
steady stroke
steady stroke
water between my fingers
slides and sweeps
sweeps and slides
into all my yesterdays
nostalgia and suicidies
wash away my sorrow
stroke away my sturm und drang
sweep weep scintillate my eyes and muscles

The Nutmeg of Consolation * * * *

The Nutmeg of Consolation by Patrick O'Brian

what a great title

Daidalos

cast into silence
i fall into the gravity well

cotton cloud walk with Morpheus and contemplate
idly
Thanatos
but suicide is a passing, transient opium
nicotine for the soul
once tried forever a dangerous temptation

my heart oozes pus
i love the brink of all i hate

my stomach churns with the month old milk of humankindlessness
i vomit self-pity

praxis

do the washing up
walk to the park
swim my 2 kilometers

yet i feel paralysed
an act of will
submit
i need to be the Daidalos of hope

the aesthetics of destruction

ROY - I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tanhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time like tears in rain. Time to die.

DECKARD - I don't know why he saved my life. Maybe in those last moments, he loved life more than he ever had before. Not just his life, anybody's life, my life. All he'd wanted were the same answers the rest of us want. Where did I come from? Where am I going? How long have I got? All I could do was sit there and watch him die.
