The Surgeon * * * *

The Surgeon by Tess Gerritsen
tense and exciting
my heart was pounding

SPOILER AFTER CUT

all the stuff from the killer's POV -- now leaves me with a feeling of being dirty as a man yet Moore and Falco the good men of the book create a balance. Significantly the killer isn't cathartically destroyed merely chained -- evil is contained but lives.
I enjoyed the female discourse elements -- the plain Jane Rizzoli ( do we only discover her first name at the end? ) tough, angry, jealous of Dr Cordell's head turning beauty, good cop(? a certain nice moral ambiguity) and Dr Cordell herself, her exterior and her inner life and ultimately refusing to gratify the predator -- refusing to be a victim -- the tigress who wins.
