Ghost in the Shell by Shirow Masamune
the first graphic novel i've ever read
rather good and some lovely artwork but rather tortuous plotting
SPOILERS AFTER CUT
although i was annoyed by the en kabbala stuff i liked the fuchikomas
which were entertaining and seem turing positive my fav is 04 machine 1
