the herbs and garlic,
casserole slowly cooking,
a glass of red wine

ginger cake and cream,
coffee and a cat asleep,
afternoon slips by

a countryside walk -
drifting through the scenery,
ambling with friends

the piano keys -
the white walls and a black cat -
waterfall music

with a little fear
a wisdom tooth extraction -
human ivory

drink when I get in,
a couple of vodka shots,
and supper cooking

taut like a bow string,
put the pebbles in my mouth,
throwing lit matches

Hospital

the silence folded,
the teeth which rip the fruit's flesh,
the smell of clean sheets

I don't know the way,
I don't have the heart to fight,
I walk straight ahead

falling like raindrops,

walking on the sand

oozes maggots and flies - fear

and recombine to form ink
puddle bounced light

drag me over sand
I am an exile from peace
the landscape bleeds wire

geometric shapes
the tide pool left by the dreams
we remember - caves

to melt the poison
that leaks from my eyes - acid
rain burns electrons

buddleja and drums
the beating rain - moss and ferns -
dripping foliage

the dragons - the sharks -
the nargles and the demons -
stealing sanity

apples - strawberries
sunlight and water - the earth
made flesh to nourish

the structures we build
coral - the bones of the dead
a surface of now

the watermill turns
the grinding stone adding grit
to the flour - bread and life
